World-Class Volleyball Court Infrastructure

Volleyball is a high-impact sport involving rapid lateral shifts, high-acceleration runs, and explosive jumps followed by hard landings.

Elite International Sports is a premier sports flooring specialist, designing and building **FIVB-compliant volleyball courts**. Working to the strict standards set by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), we construct premium court facilities across international stadiums, municipal recreation centers, universities, schools, and private clubs.

From a sports engineering perspective, volleyball courts must provide uniform ball rebound, high force reduction, and precise surface friction. Playing on hard, unyielding concrete or substandard floors increases impact stress on athletes' joints, leading to shin splints, patellar tendonitis (jumper's knee), and ankle sprains. Our court systems absorb landing shock while giving athletes stable footing for sudden direction changes and slides.

We install three primary volleyball flooring systems: seamless indoor/outdoor Polyurethane (PU) cushion systems, premium sprung hardwood maple floors for professional tournaments, and modular interlocking tiles. Our services cover complete site grading, subgrade concrete casting, posts anchoring, net tensioning, and line markings.

Safety, Friction & Rebound Characteristics

FIVB performance guidelines govern ball-to-surface and player-to-surface interaction. The playing surface must exhibit complete flatness to prevent unexpected ball bounce.

Shock Absorption (35% to 45%)

Our resilient PU rubber bases and sprung timber runners absorb vertical impact energy, protecting players during landing.

Balanced Friction Coefficient

Surfacing chemical coats are formulated to provide high traction without cleats locking, facilitating sliding during ball digs.

Uniform Ball Rebound

Maintains a vertical ball bounce efficiency exceeding 90% of the bounce on concrete, ensuring consistent play.

Non-Glare Matt Finish

Top polyurethane coats feature anti-reflective matt finishes, ensuring athletes maintain visual focus under bright overhead lighting.

Key Features of Elite Volleyball Courts

  • Certified to FIVB Official Performance guidelines
  • High shock absorption (35% - 45% force reduction)
  • Seamless, hygienic, and easily cleanable surfaces
  • Heavy-duty ground sockets for rigid net posts
  • Optimized slide friction to prevent skin friction burns
  • Anti-glare matt top coatings
  • Excellent wear resistance under intensive footwear friction
  • UV-stable pigments for outdoor installations
  • Eco-friendly composition, free from toxic lead and mercury
  • 10+ years expected lifespan under standard maintenance

Types of Volleyball Court Systems

We install four primary volleyball surfaces, each configured for specific settings:

Seamless Polyurethane (PU)

Features a pre-fabricated rubber crumb base mat bonded to the concrete subgrade, sealed, and finished with a 2mm self-leveling polyurethane wearing coat. Seamless, joint-free, and ideal for multi-purpose halls.

Sprung Maple Hardwood

Uses kiln-dried North American Maple boards laid over a sprung timber runner subframe. Provides maximum bounce and force reduction. The official standard for elite national championships.

PP Interlocking Tiles

Modular polypropylene tiles with built-in drainage holes. Durable, weather-resistant, and ideal for outdoor community parks, schools, and multi-sport grounds.

Beach Volleyball Sand Courts

Engineered outdoor pits containing 300mm depth of rounded, washed silica sand (free of gravel/shells), built over a geotextile-lined gravel drainage matrix.

Construction and Laying Process

Our construction process focuses on concrete leveling and socket stability to ensure durable performance:

1. Civil excavation & Leveling

Excavating the court site and compacting the subgrade soil to establish a flat base.

2. Concrete Slab Casting

Pouring a 100mm reinforced M25 concrete slab over a vapor-barrier sheet, finished to a tolerance of less than 3mm deviation under a 3m straight edge.

3. Ground Socket Grouting

Coring the concrete slab at official net-post positions, and grouting heavy steel sleeves to anchor the posts securely.

4. Elastic Cushion Installation

Applying an epoxy damp-proof primer, and bonding a 6mm-8mm pre-fabricated SBR rubber crumb cushion mat to the concrete base.

5. Sealing & PU Layering

Applying a polyurethane pore-filler, followed by laying the 2mm self-leveling polyurethane wear course.

6. Anti-Glare Top Coating

Applying a textured, anti-reflective polyurethane top coat with high friction grip properties.

7. Line marking & Net Set-up

Painting boundary lines, installing official net poles, tensioning the nets, and handing over the completed court.

Materials Utilized

PU Resins

Seamless, solvent-free self-leveling polyurethanes designed for indoor sports flooring.

SBR Cushion Mat

High-density recycled SBR rubber mats to provide uniform force reduction and joint protection.

M25 Concrete

Reinforced M25 cement concrete slab paved with precise grade controls to provide structural strength.

Epoxy Damp Primer

Water-barrier epoxy primer to prevent sub-grade moisture from damaging the rubber layers.

Steel Sockets

Heavy-gauge galvanized steel sleeves grouted deep into concrete to anchor net poles.

PE Netting

High-density UV-treated polyethylene net with side fiberglass poles and tensioning cables.

Advantages of Elite Courts

Joint Protection

Absorbs landing shock, minimizing joint impact stress and jumper's knee risk.

Uniform Bounce

Flat base concrete leveling ensures consistent ball rebound across the court.

Low Maintenance

Seamless PU surfaces require no sanding, waxing, or sealing, reducing upkeep costs.
