About Volleyball PVC Flooring

Volleyball is a high-flying sport characterized by repetitive heavy jumps, fast directional blocks, and diving saves.

To support intense physical play, a court must provide the right balance of grip and cushion. Elite facilities prefer PVC sports flooring because it provides point elasticity. Unlike wood, which bends over a wide area, PVC compresses directly under the player's foot, absorbing impact exactly where needed. This protects joints from wear and tear and helps prevent landing injuries.

Our volleyball PVC flooring systems are manufactured from high-density virgin PVC, featuring a textured wear layer for high traction. These rolls are built with an internal fiberglass mesh layer to prevent stretching and shrinkage under temperature shifts. Our systems comply with International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) guidelines, supporting international competitions and professional academy training.

Beyond player safety, the design ensures a uniform surface response. There are no dead spots on the court, ensuring predictable ball rebound and dependable foot traction. With a durable subfloor, dampness-sealed base, and excellent sound isolation, our systems are built for long-term, high-intensity play.

Engineering Principles

What is Indoor Sports Flooring?

Indoor sports flooring is a highly specialized mechanical system engineered to act as an interface between the athlete and the rigid concrete sub-base, optimizing safety, energy return, and sports-specific physics.

Unlike standard floors, which are designed solely for load-bearing stability, sports flooring is engineered for biomechanical interaction. This is achieved by combining surface material properties with advanced subfloor mechanical designs. The goal is to manage elasticity—where the floor system compresses slightly under load when an athlete lands.

The core engineering lies in the shock-absorption sub-structure. We use a high-density PVC foam backing. When a player jumps or lands, their downward force is absorbed by the compression of this foam layer. This prevents the impact energy from transferring back into the athlete's joints.

Furthermore, the surface coating must balance traction and slide. A player must have enough grip to prevent slips during fast changes of direction, but not so much that their shoes stick, which can twist knees and strain ligaments. We apply specialized, non-glare, anti-skid UV coatings that meet the European Standard EN 14904 for sliding coefficient (friction values between 80 and 110).

Key Biomechanical Elements

  • Point Elasticity: Compresses directly under the foot to absorb localized impact and prevent stress injuries.
  • Sliding Friction: Optimizes shoe-to-floor friction to support fast lunges while allowing controlled micro-slides, reducing ligament strain.
  • Energy Return: The floor compresses and bounces back, returning kinetic energy to help players transition into their next movement.
  • Sound Control: Absorbs the rumble of footwork and impact noise, improving stadium acoustics.
Key Performance Factors

Why Choose This Flooring?

Investing in a premium FIVB-standard PVC flooring system ensures player safety, long-lasting durability, and low lifecycle maintenance costs.

Biomechanical Safety

Delivers 25% to 35% shock absorption. This reduces shock transmission through the legs, preventing muscle fatigue, shin splints, and joint trauma during long play.

Premium Appearance

Offered in classic sports blue/orange with pre-marked white lines. The matte finish prevents light glare, helping players track the ball.

Long Service Life

With a high-density PVC wear layer and a fiberglass stability core, our floors resist indentation and have a lifespan of over 10 to 15 years under normal use.

System Configurations

Types of PVC Flooring Systems

We supply and install a range of PVC sports floor designs tailored to different budgets, subfloor moisture levels, and performance needs.

FIVB Style PVC Flooring

Approved for international tournament use. Features the iconic blue court and orange perimeter layout with specialized non-directional texture for maximum grip, offering a high-performance court for national and international volleyball matches.

Shock Absorbing Vinyl Flooring

Multi-layered vinyl rolls featuring a thick PVC wear layer. Provides excellent wear resistance and consistent slip resistance under temperature shifts. Recommended for school halls and multi-sport complexes.

Indoor Volleyball Surface

Features a thick foam cushion backing that absorbs impact and provides a comfortable feel underfoot. Excellent for recreational clubs and coaching academies where player joint comfort is key.

Layered Engineering

PVC Flooring Structure

A high-performance sports floor is a multi-layered structure, not just a simple layer of vinyl. Every layer is carefully chosen to manage load distribution, prevent moisture damage, and absorb impact.

1. Top Wear Layer (Textured high-density PVC for traction)
2. UV Protective Coating (Protects colors & resists dirt)
3. Printed Design Layer (Clear court markings and color)
4. PVC Surface Layer (Structural stability)
5. Fiberglass Mesh Layer (Dimensional stability against temperature changes)
6. Closed-Cell Foam Cushion Layer (Local shock absorption)
7. Subfloor Base Layer (Self-leveling compound/adhesives)
8. M30 Reinforced Structural Concrete Base

Function of Every Layer

  • Top Wear Layer: Highly textured to control friction, preventing slips while allowing controlled slides.
  • UV Coating: Shields the court from UV rays and makes daily cleaning quick and easy.
  • Printed Layer: Provides the classic blue/orange visual design with clear court markings.
  • Fiberglass Layer: Prevents the vinyl rolls from expanding or shrinking under temperature changes.
  • Foam Cushion Layer: Compresses on impact, absorbing force and reducing impact strain on players' joints.
  • Subfloor Base: Provides the flat, stable foundation needed to support the entire floor system.
Step-by-Step Execution

Construction & Installation Process

We manage the entire construction process from site inspection to final handover, ensuring every step meets our strict quality standards.

Stage 01

Site Inspection

We assess the sub-base, checking for structural cracks, dust issues, and overall access to the site.

Stage 02

Requirement Analysis

We align the system design with FIVB standards and coordinate layout planning with the client's needs.

Stage 03

Floor Level Checking

We check the floor level using digital levels. The sub-floor must not deviate by more than 3mm over a 3-meter span.

Stage 04

Moisture Testing

We measure concrete moisture levels using a calcium chloride test. The reading must be below 3% to prevent warping.

Stage 05

Subfloor Preparation

We clean the subfloor, grind down high spots, fill low spots with epoxy mortar, and seal it to prevent dust.

Stage 06

Self-Leveling Application

We apply a self-leveling cement compound to ensure a perfectly flat concrete sub-base for the adhesive.

Stage 07

Roll Acclimatization

We unroll the PVC sheets on the court for 24-48 hours, letting them adjust to the room temperature and humidity.

Stage 08

Adhesive Application & Laying

We apply sports-grade acrylic adhesive to the sub-floor, lay down the PVC rolls, and press them with a 50kg roller.

Stage 09

Thermal Welding

We groove the joints between rolls and weld them thermally using PVC welding rods to create a seamless floor.

Stage 10

Quality Testing

We verify shock absorption, bounce consistency, and surface friction using standard testing equipment.

Stage 11

Final Inspection

We conduct a walk-through with the client to check the final finish, leveling, and perimeter details.

Stage 12

Project Handover

We hand over the court along with documentation, maintenance guides, and warranty certificates.
